Operations and Development Manager, Chişinau
GENERAL
- Have a sufficient amount of truck drivers at work according to the right quality levels.
- Ensure a happy & motivated workforce.
- A strong focus on recruitment of the right new talent.
- Ambition to grow and develop his / her team faster than the company grows.
- Be part of senior management team which runs the MD office and consists of the SSC manager and the Operations manager.
- Manage 4 team leaders and their subordinates.
- Continuous improvement (what we call our Faster & Better DNA) and fit for duty is a natural habit.
- Reports to the Director of People & Culture in Poland.
Driver recruitment
- Set up of the targets for driver inflow for the Moldovan market, in close cooperation with the other countries.
- Maximizing the ratio of drivers starting the recruitment process to hired & working drivers.
- Analysing the sources of inflow and performance of marketing budgets.
- Proper competences identification at the start to prevent a major schooling impact later.
- Finding & creating new opportunities to increase the inflow of drivers.
- Contribute to the international driver recruitment set-up with a strong focus on automation & IT.
- Active participation on employer branding.
- Monitor the competition and their offers to stay competitive.
Driver care
- Take care of the employed drivers. Make them feel appreciated & listened to.
- Plan the drivers home vs. work ratio's to ensure a 100% performance on needed drivers vs. working drivers.
- Transparent communication on salaries or related topics to prevent any misunderstandings regarding to received income for drivers.
- Together with the immigration department, ensure valid documentation for all employed drivers
- Contribute to the international driver care set-up with a strong focus on automation & IT.
- Finding & creating new opportunities to increase the satisfaction of employees while increasing their efficiency.
- Create a good cooperation with the internal customer OPS Poland and the Operations Director.
- Monitor the competition and their offers to stay competitive.
Driver development
- Manage the teams of English teachers, driver instructors, theory instructor & fuel management.
- Create a full portfolio of development for a drivers-lifetime.
- Co-develop a stronger focus on fuel management, how to reduce the fuel usage by 10%.
- Demonstrate a strong vision on trends and new technologies and drive vision for driver development throughout the organization.
- Create a common standard on driver competence level and a way to examine this level.
- Manage relationships between recruitment, driver care, dispatch and the development team
Local finance & payroll
- Supervise the local finance team, while they functionally report to the Group Finance Director in Poland.
- Keep relation with state authorities like: Fiscal authorities, labour inspection.
The Successful Applicant
- University degree(s) with a strong focus on mastering recruitment and people development.
- Expected 5 years plus of experience in managerial position
- A knock-out criteria is a strong focus on developing bright talents
- Result orientated, proactive personality
- Strong personality with eye for people first
- Ability to exceed expectations
- Fluent English in writing and speaking is mandatory
- Mature, motivated, independent with strong technical knowledge, solid experience in operations, robust work ethic, and good interpersonal skills
- Work and life experiences in a multi-national environment preferable
- Travelling abroad from time to time is part of the job.
- Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings with strong cross functional, participative management style focused on genuine people leadership
- High energy, hands-on, and eye for details while keeping a strategic perspective
- Understands lifelong learning & development
