Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Romania, București

Our client is a market leader in the Ukrainian retail sector in the Dollar & Variety store segment and a key player in Central and Eastern Europe. In Romania, the company has already opened over 30 stores and continues to expand rapidly, offering customers a unique shopping experience and products at the best prices.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute financial strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support business growth.
  • Oversee and optimize cash flow management, working capital, and financial risk mitigation.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with international and local regulations.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.
  • Oversee the implementation of ERP systems to enhance financial efficiency.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and operational improvements.
  •  Analyze financial data to support pricing strategies and promotional activities.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Optimize inventory management, minimize losses, and improve turnover rates.
  • Monitor key retail performance indicators (KPIs) to assess profitability across store locations.
  • Work closely with procurement and sales teams to ensure financial stability and sustainable growth.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CFO.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; Russian is a plus.
  • Background in Big4 is a significant advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the retail sector are highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to build and optimize financial processes from scratch.
  • Experience implementing ERP systems is preferred.
  • Successful track record in managing finances for companies with an annual turnover of at least €10 million.
  • Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Strong analytical mindset, leadership skills, and high ethical standards.
