Our client, a dynamically growing international retail chain with 1700+ stores in Ukraine and over 50 in Romania, is entering the Bulgarian market and is looking for an experienced and motivated:
Category Manager / Buyer in Bulgaria
About the RoleThis position will play a key role in shaping the company’s commercial strategy in Bulgaria. The Category Manager / Buyer will be responsible for assortment development, building strong supplier partnerships, and ensuring competitiveness in the FMCG sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supplier sourcing – identify and onboard local producers and distributors in FMCG categories (beauty, food, household chemicals, pet food, etc.).
• Assortment development – analyze price lists, validate SKU proposals, align selections with HQ commerce.
• Negotiations – secure competitive purchase prices, favorable payment terms, and promotional agreements.
• Analytics – perform assortment gap analysis, price benchmarking, and basic GMROI evaluations.
• Compliance – manage contract signing, collect product documentation, ensure labeling and certification compliance.
• Collaboration – work closely with the Expansion Commercial Manager to finalize supplier agreements.

• Candidate Requirements:
• Proven experience as Category Manager / Buyer / Procurement Specialist in retail or FMCG (experience in discount/value retail is an advantage).
• Strong network of Bulgarian suppliers and manufacturers, with an existing database of relevant contacts.
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
• Solid knowledge of local market dynamics, pricing trends, and consumer behavior.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international, and growth-driven environment.
• Fluency in Bulgarian and English (Romanian or Ukrainian is a plus).
